First Year Courses
Following is a complete listing of each course offered at
Reality College during the student's first year (categorized by the
Seven Areas of Life). You can scroll down through the
page or simply click on the links below to 'jump' directly to a
specific area.
Spiritual
Jesus - as Central and
Supreme He's the centerpiece of the World, the Universe,
the Scriptures and life as the most significant person to
know.
Jesus - from Genesis to
Revelation This course is designed to reveal Jesus in
every book of the Bible, from Genesis to Revelation as the Alpha,
Omega and everything in between.
Jesus - in Name Only This
course is designed to reveal the magnitude and person of the Lord
Jesus Christ through His many names.
Jesus - the 'I AM' This
course will reveal Jesus to be the 'I AM' of the Old and New
Testaments, the ever present God.
Jesus - THE Answer This will
be a summary evaluation and discovery of the degree of reality of
Jesus Christ in the life of each student.
The Gospel This course will
be a comprehensive evaluation of the Scriptures' portrait of the
Gospel.
Trusting God This course
develops the students awareness of God's sovereignty over nations,
nature and individuals providing a foundation of reason for why God
can be trusted.
Victorious Christian Living
(VCL) This course will reveal an understanding of the
primary reasons Christians do not live victoriously. It then
provides the Biblical answers on God's design for successful and
effective living.
Bible Overview This course
will give an overview of the Old and New Testaments - their purpose,
effect and relationship to your personal life.
Old Testament Survey This
course will give a more in-depth study of the Old Testament overview
and the purpose of each individual book of the Old
Testament.
New Testament Survey This
course will give a more in-depth study of the New Testament overview
and the purpose of each individual book of the New
Testament.
Quiet Time The purpose of
time alone with God is to know Him, the 'Author' of the Book, not
just to know the Book. This class will teach the student the
foundations to an effective quiet time and give you the practical
application for meaningful times of fellowship with the Lord
Jesus.
Experiencing God This course
will help you learn when God is speaking to you. It will help you
find out where God is working and allow you to join Him. It will
also allow you to begin to experience Him, doing through you, what
only God can do.
Developing Your Life
Purpose This course is designed to assist the student in
discovering what God's life purpose is for all believers as well as
how it applies to the student personally. The student will develop a
Scriptural mindset that will guide them throughout their life,
whether in ministry or secular vocation.
Authority This course is a
comprehensive Scriptural view of where authority comes, what it is,
and what our response should be to it.

Psychological
Discussion Dynamics This
time is designed to provide each student the opportunity to
experience the free exchange of ideas with other students and their
instructors. These discussion times will explore how all the issues
(or courses of study) relate to one's personal life
experience.
Decision Making This course
helps the student to recognize the factors that hinder decision
making. The student will learn how to make timely and sound
decisions as well as being given guidance on how to accomplish the
decisions that are made.
Just Think This course is
designed to give the student Biblical values and methods on how to
think correctly.
Speed Reading I This course
is designed to make you proficient in reading all types of materials
by increasing your reading speed and the comprehension of what you
read. It will include the explanation, illustration and practice of
the necessary skills.
Time Management This course
will equip the student with the Biblical values and tools to know
how to make the most of each moment of their life. (Ephesians
5:15-16)
Study Habits This class
trains the student to develop 'habits' in retaining and organizing
thoughts and to recall information when needed.
Goals & Planning This
course is designed to help the student develop and set their goals
for all Seven Areas of Life. It will also walk the student through
the process of putting together a plan of action.
Seven Areas of Life Training
(S.A.L.T.) This class will help you apply God's word to
every area of your life using, as a foundation, the truths learned
in the Victorious Christian Living Class. It will also give you a
wealth of tools for sharing these truths with others.

Physical
Physical Fitness I This
course will be the understanding of the human body and it's design
for physical health. It will also help each student develop a
personal plan to create and maintain optimal health and physical
fitness.
Healthy Eating I This course
is designed to teach the student the fundamentals of nutrition and
healthy eating. This course will also give the student practical
application including recipes for preparing cold dishes for future
life use.
Healthy Eating II This
course is designed to teach the student the fundamentals of
nutrition and healthy eating. This course will also give the student
practical application including recipes for preparing hot dishes for
future life use.
Healthy Eating III This
course is designed to teach the student the fundamentals of
nutrition and healthy baking. This course will also give the student
practical application including recipes on baking for future life
use.
Home Organization This
course focuses on all the necessary elements of effective home
management. This course includes basic issues of shopping, cleaning,
food storage and laundry.

Social
Communication Workshop This
course will provide the necessary tools and practice for effective
listening and speaking skills.
Home Fellowship This course
will provide the New Testament background to home fellowships, their
practices, responsibilities and benefits. It will also explain and
provide the tools necessary to participate in, as well as, to start
and facilitate a home fellowship.
Etiquette This course
instructs the student on the practices and forms of social etiquette
as prescribed by social convention or by authority.
World Religions I This class
will provide a basic understanding of the major religions of the
world.
U.S. Heritage This course
will give an actual history of the United States' beginnings both
spiritually and governmentally. It will give opportunity to re-think
the issues of the separation of Church and State from both a
Biblical and historical perspective.
The History of the
Church This course will review the history and various
structures of the church. It will define what is the 'church' and
it's purpose. It will also discuss what causes the church to effect
society, or society to effect the church.
The Practices of the
Church This course will describe the forms, methods and
objectives of various church body functions. This course will also
take an in-depth look at the effectiveness of the early
church.
Public Speaking This course
will provide the teaching, training and practice of effective public
speaking skills. The goal will be to make each student comfortable
in speaking publicly, which is considered to be one of the most
fearful experiences.
Residential Trades I This
course provides instruction and hands-on application of the basic
trades needed to build a residential structure. Areas of instruction
include ground preparation, rough plumbing and cement
forms.
Residential Trades II This
course builds upon the knowledge and experience of the Residential
Trades I course and further develops the student's ability in the
areas of concrete work, framing, plumbing and electrical.
Mechanical Overview This
course reviews and instructs the student on the basic mechanical
systems found in the typical residential home as well as common
tools and appliances that are found there.
Home Maintenance I This
course provides instruction and hands-on application for the
necessary maintenance of the typical household. Areas covered
include interior and exterior maintenance and repairs as well as
common landscaping and grounds maintenance.
Home Maintenance II This
course will instruct the student on the more advanced systems found
in the typical home. Systems covered will include watering,
irrigation, air conditioning, and heating.
Automotive Maintenance and
Repair This course will equip the student to properly
maintain their car through oil, filter, and fluid changes; hose,
belt, and small parts replacement; as well as the repair and
replacement of braking and suspension components. Time will also be
spent instructing the student in negotiations and oversight of any
professional automotive services.

Financial
Finances - God's View This
course explains the Biblical perspective of earning, spending, debt
liquidation, attitudes about wealth and habits that develop wealth.
It will provide all the materials, forms and tools to make it
possible to fulfill God's financial plan.
Personal Finances This
course reviews the basics of budgeting, maintaining and balancing a
checkbook, estate planning and monitoring progress towards the
student's own financial goals. It will include all of the steps of
setting up and managing their own personal financial
affairs.
Financial Independence This
course explains the principles and provides the necessary
ingredients to help the student establish and multiply wealth.
Basic Personal
Computing This course is designed to introduce the
student to the uses and benefits of current technology in both a
personal and academic environment. A basic understanding will be
covered of both computer hardware and software.
Intermediate Personal
Computing This course will review various types of
software and their applications. These programs will be evaluated
for personal as well as business use.
Advanced Personal
Computing This course is designed to give a student the
understanding and skills to effectively start, build and run an
Internet business. It will also give the student the knowledge and
the resources to assist in the development of a traditional
business.

Practical
Application
Apprenticeship/Discipleship Discipleship
time is spent with the Student's discipler, helping the student to
integrate the Reality College teachings into practical life
experience. Apprenticeship time is spent with mentors to help the
student develop a variety of skills and trades.
